UV Ribbing Material Details:
semi rounded synthetic material
perfect for ribbing medium and large flies
can be used to make the entire body with it
suits for river flies and salmon flies in the same type
packed in zip bags , length of material is around 1.5m!
This fly tying material is fantastic for making ribbing for nymphs and emergers and has a great trigger effect. It is used especially in competitions when fishermen need to catch as much as possible . For example the white color has an ice blue reflex and is fantastic to rib emergers in light colors. The pink has a violet effect with light blue reflexes and is fantastic for ribbing nymphs. This type of tying material offers a different way to create hot spots. These fibers are great for wet flies, nymphs, even dry flies and of course streamers.
Why these thin ribbing fibers and not tinsel?
-Gold, silver and colored flat tinsels are used by fishermen for many years. Educated fish are careful in picking super sparkling flies tied with gold and silver. These fibers give an extra sparkle to flies without being too flashy. A pearly uv color seems to be more efficient than classic colored tinsels.
